Healthy Homes & Prevention
Mold needs moisture. Control the water, and you control most of the problem. Here's how we approach prevention — before, during, and after a project.

Prevention
Moisture Control Basics
Stop the Moisture Source
Fix leaks in roofs, plumbing, and windows first — remediation without this rarely lasts.
Dry Wet Materials Promptly
Wet materials should be dried as quickly as possible, ideally within a day or two.
Control Indoor Humidity
Use dehumidifiers and exhaust fans to keep humidity in a moderate range.
Drainage & Ventilation
Grade soil away from foundations, keep gutters clear, and vent baths and dryers outside.

How We Work Responsibly
Containment during remediation
Barriers and controlled airflow help keep work-area debris out of the rest of the building.
HEPA filtration & detailed cleaning
HEPA air scrubbers and vacuums plus wipe-down cleaning of surfaces in the work area.
Responsible handling of unsalvageable materials
Porous materials that can't be restored are bagged and disposed of properly.
Salvage when appropriate
We clean and keep materials when their condition and accepted restoration practice allow.
Post-Project Prevention Checklist
- Check the repaired area monthly for new staining or odors
- Run bathroom fans during and after showers
- Empty and clean dehumidifier buckets regularly
- Inspect under sinks and around appliances for drips
- Keep gutters and downspouts clear and extended
- Call promptly after any new leak — fast drying matters
